The characters’ search for a happy ending depends entirely on the titular servant Truffaldino, who is constantly on the lookout for a decent meal. Truffaldino’s attempt to double his wages unravels with delicious mayhem in this joyous, 18thcentury lark.

In order to pursue the romance, both men concoct an elaborate deception which leads to an even more outlandish surprise when the formidable Lady Bracknell starts sleuthing about for the far-fetched truth.

Down among the foundations of The Rose Bankside – the theatre Shakespeare began his career in – puppets, music and physical theatre will bring history to life and let one of England’s most debated figures finally have his say.
