Richard III: Leicester welcomes King’s remains

By The Telegraph video and PA, 23 March 2015

Members of the public will be able to view the coffin of Richard III, as he lies in repose at Leicester Cathedral ahead of his reburial later this week, more than 500 years after his death in battle.

Thousands lined the route of the last Plantagenet king’s cortege yesterday before a special service of compline at the cathedral.

The day marked the moment Richard was formally transferred to the cathedral from the custody of University of Leicester, whose archaeologists and scientists identified the king’s remains.
