MOVES are under way to create a new charitable organisation to run the parade and street flag installations for the annual Shakespeare Birthday Celebrations in Stratford-upon-Avon.
The idea is contained in a report being presented at tomorrow (Tuesday) night’s meeting of Stratford Town Council’s finance and scrutiny committee.
The report by Dave Webb, a senior official at Stratford-on-Avon District Council, argues that the prestigious annual event has much more chance of attracting grants and sponsorship if it is administered by a charitable body.
